Stable above °C - usually formed in hydrothermal syntheses, has disordered Al-Si arrangement (in contrast to 'low albite'). Albite belongs to the Plagioclase Feldspar group, an isomorphous solid solution is one end member, containing sodium and no calcium. The other end member, Anorthite, contains calcium and no intermediary members are Oligoclase, Andesine, Labradorite, and lase and Andesine are considered by some to be a variety of Albite rather then a separate mineral.

Albite often occurs as fine parallel segregations alternating with pink microcline in perthite as a result of exolution on cooling. It occurs in granitic and pegmatite masses, in some hydrothermal vein deposits and forms part of the typical greenschist metamorphic facies for rocks of originally basaltic composition. A local term for a dark-green to grass-green compact massive jade-looking rock consisting essentially of vesuvianite. Compact massive vesuvianite. Also known as "California jade" or "American jade". Visit for gemological information about Californite.

Metamorphism is the alteration of a preexisting rock (the parent rock) due to heat and pressure caused by burial in the parent rock must adapt to the new conditions and it does so by changing mineral composition and texture. These rocks with new texture and composition are metamorphic rocks. Albite gives an easy and effortless flow to all relationships, situations and interactions. It will relieve any fears of the unknown by providing the energy of courage and confidence. It supports personal freedom and self-empowerment in times of change. Albite is a stone of .
